Not Big Enough for the Mine Tour
Liz at the front window explained where most things were and what I could do. I'm too young to go on a mine tour, but I set off to see everything else on offer.
Kathy explained to me where miners lived and how they cooked, she was chopping wood for the fire. She was very nice.
Had a quick game of quoits, though they were very heavy. Naomi came along and gave me a hand.
This may be one of the best bits. Alison and Naomi showed me how to find crystals and galena. Breaking up stones with old fashioned hammers.
Went to a Jigger House. What is a jigger ?
Did you know there is loads of unexpected stuff here? I came across this chicken with a young chick. His dad was making a lot of noise as well. Brill!
Time for lunch - miner's fingers and homemade cake.
Going up to investigate the woods, hopefully I'll see some squirrels, red ones.
Back for more fun on the washing floor. The battery in the camera ran out so I couldn't take pictures of the whole walk. We saw mushrooms, and a massive dragon fly, lots of different birds were singing to me.
I played on the slide and in the sand pit in the playground.
I went up to the 'Pennine Jewels', it was really good. Finally I went into the shop and got to spend some of my pocket money. Oh, what a good day!
