Sam Squirrel's Backpack
You and your family can become detectives for the day. Your mission (if you choose to accept it) is to solve the mystery of who is living in the woods at Killhope.
Killhope will supply you with a backpack which has all the supplies that you need to discover the creatures, where they might live and what they eat.
The trail will take you between 45 minutes and one and a half hours depending on how many children in the group and how old they are. There are no hard and fast rules so you can always miss bits out if you like.
In your backpack you will find:
Collection tray, containers, butterfly net, ID charts, hand lens, trowel, crayons, binoculars, pencil and your own detective booklet to fill in. The booklet is your souvenir to take home.
The backpack is free to borrow although we do ask for a returnable deposit, car keys or £10.
