Important Information for Visitors

Over winter 2009/10 building work has taken place to improve our visitor centre, including the reception and displays. This work was due to be completed in March 2010, however, the unprecedented amount of snow this winter delayed the start of the work and has meant that the visitor centre did not open on 1 April as planned.

For visitors arriving at Killhope in April, May, June and July, we hope to open as much of the site as possible, and exhibitions will be arriving as the work continues.

If you are planning to visit Killhope in April, May and June, we recommend telephoning the museum in advance on 01388 537 505 to find out what parts of the museum are open and accessible and how this may reflect in the admission price.

We apologize for any inconvenience and look forward to welcoming visitors back to our new, improved visitor centre as soon as possible.
