Families invited to join spooky woodland walks

Published October 12, 2009

Visitors to a North East museum could be in for a fright later this month.

Killhope – The North of England Lead Mining Museum – will be holding a series of spooky woodland walks in the build up to Hallowe’en.

Families are invited to join Adam the storyteller on the walks, when he will entertain and enthral with scary stories from around the world.

Workshops will also be held and children will be able to make a paper lantern to take with them on the walk.

There will be four walks, each lasting 45 minutes, taking place on Sunday, October 25.

Walks cost £1 for adults and 50p for children and people are advised to wrap up warm and wear suitable footwear.

The walks will start at 12 noon, 1.00pm, 2.30pm and 3.30pm.

Normal museum admission prices will apply and people are advised to allow extra time for their visit to include the trip down the mine.

For more information or to book a place people can contact the museum, which is managed by Durham County Council, on 01388 537505.
